“There needs to be a lot more emphasis on what a child can do instead of what they cannot do” – Temple Grandin
As our name suggests, we offer three main services within the ASD community.
- Teaching:
We are firm believers of “it takes a village”. We place utmost emphasis on creating an enlightened support network for children and families affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders in all communities, now and in future.
To this end, Teaching learning consultancy works closely with families, schools, daycares and individuals in providing in depth, hands-on information and educational opportunities. Our mission is to share our knowledge and experience to assist:
- Parents and extended family to truly understand and connect with their child with Autism, thus ensuring family resilience, positivity and hope (Familial Mental Health and Wellbeing);
- Current and future educators to know what Autism and its many forms look like, thus ensuring that children with possible learning difficulties enrolled at their centres may receive the needed help as soon as possible (Early Intervention);
- Educators who have students with Autism enrolled in their classes to be better equipped to serve the child’s needs and learning profile among those of the other students (Inclusion);
- Community members, businesses and services to seek ways to support children and families affected by Autism and to discover how, even with small allowances and alterations, these vulnerable individuals can feel welcome (Social Support);
- Families and Communities to build a network of support that will allow a newly-diagnosed family avenues to consider in finding the needed help for their child (Information Sharing and Community Awareness)

- Learning:
Each child with autism is unique and should be approached as such. Treatments and support that work for one child may not work for another, which is why TLC uses a range of world-renowned and highly sought-after techniques, among others:
- Wilbarger Brushing Protocol
- HANDLE (Holistic Approach to Neuro-Development Learning Efficiency)
- BrainGym
- Pivotal Response Therapy
- Selective and applicable ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis)
- Oral- and Speech Exercises
- Augmentative and Alternative Communication (Makaton, PECS)
- Sensory Integration
- TEACCH (Treatment and Education of Autistic and Related Communication Handicapped Children)
- Teach Me Language
- Jolly Phonics
- Social Stories
- Life Skills Development
Working closely with families, we create the platform for active and positive change in each and every child’s life.
- Consultancy:
With our collective almost 30 years of experience, we are privileged to offer assistance and consultation to families not within our immediate area, or countries with limited resources and/or understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Consultancy may involve remote consultations or on-site visits to families, schools or therapy center’s across the globe, the latter subject to availability of our team members.
Our greatest strive through our consultancy service is to educate, empower and equip those we consult with to best serve the needs of ASD students, both immediately and in future.
Additional Services
Teaching Learning Consultancy believes in an integrated treatment approach to ASD and our flexibility to the needs of each student. Our Individual Therapy services are available for students enrolled in any of our groups as well as for visiting students.
For those children enrolled in group, our individual therapists work closely with the group teachers to ensure that the strengths and weaknesses of each child is amply met. Daily communication between therapy and group services ensure that challenges are immediately addressed, and mastered skills are given the platform for generalization and practice.
For visiting students, those that attend individual therapy sessions at allocated times throughout the week, the foci of the sessions may range from academic and emotional support, bolstering weaknesses to allow inclusion into groups, social interaction opportunities, to sensory integration, and beyond.
All sessions are based on the student’s Individualized Educational Development Plan (IEDP), which is tailored to accommodate the strengths, weaknesses and opportunities for that student using an integrated, multidisciplinary approach to learning.
Individual therapy sessions are available between 08:00 and 14:00, Mondays to Fridays.
Additionally, Aftercare is available for those of our families who have the need, daily from 14:30 – 17:00.
